Meet Marna Moore-Barr, NP

Marna Moore-Barr, NP, has been a nurse for over 32 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado, completed her lactation consultant training at UCLA, and later achieved her Master of Science in Nursing from South University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Over the years, Marna has served in many roles, including public health nursing, pediatrics, family care and Lactation Consultant.

She was the sole proprietor of Baby Latte Breastfeeding Services for over 10 years, supporting countless families in northern San Luis Obispo County. She also became well-known as nurse and lactation consultant at local hospitals, and creator and moderator of the Newborn and Parent Support Group (NAPS), helping countless families navigate the challenges of early parenthood.

Later as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she practiced in pediatrics at Dr. Nave’s office before joining Dr. Janet McLennan, where she spent more than seven years caring for children and adults with asthma, allergies, and related conditions.

During her years with Dr. McLennan, Marna developed a special focus on helping patients and families manage food allergies and asthma. She loved getting to know her patients over time—whether it was guiding parents through the challenges of keeping a child safe with food allergies or helping an active teen get back to playing sports without being held back by asthma. These experiences deepened her passion for practical, everyday care that makes life better for her patients and their families.

Marna continues to bring that dedication to her practice today. She is now excited to be working for Dr. Vincent Tubiolo in the Templeton office, where she cares for patients of all ages with the same compassion, warmth, and commitment that have defined her decades in nursing.

Outside of work, Marna enjoys all things Halloween, cherishing time with her wonderful family, playing cards with friends, and—most importantly—beating her husband at cribbage.
